Special Family Weekend is a fabulous opportunity for families with kids with special needs to experience the outdoors in an inclusive, supportive environment.
Families stay in camp-style cabins, enjoy delicious meals served by the Camp Sealth staff, and spend the weekend doing all of your favorite camp activities. Walk the beach, play in the sand, take a hike in the woods, bike, fish, row a boat, canoe, do crafts, pony rides and archery all weekend long. You can do the weekend at your pace - packed with activities, or relaxing and laid-back.
Parents can have a couple of hours of respite care while volunteers and staff provide activities and supervision for the kids.
A variety of adaptive bikes are provided by the OutdoorsForAll Foundation. Children of all ability levels will find a bike they can take out for a spin!
Registration for 2012 is now full. Please contact us to be placed on the mailing list to receive information about next year's event. Registration opens in March 2013.
If you receive respite care funds from DDD, you can use up to $35.00 (2 hours of respite care) to use toward the cost of the weekend. Special Family Weekend is not considered respite, except for the two-hour Kids Club and Teen Club. You must get prior approval from your caseworker to use DDD funds.
Limited financial aid through Camp Fire USA is available - click here for more information.
